Who’s the best bet for Homa Bay Governorship in 2017?
│Could be the incumbent, Cyprian Awiti? Maybe be Kasipul
Kabondo MP Oyugi Magwanga? How about Phillip Okundi? Fred Rabongo is also on
the race? Then there is one Enosh Bolo? Who's left out? And who is likely to
unveil his candidature soon? Read to find out.
Contentment and Happiness are Bosom
Buddies │The folly is in our perception that our colleagues,
friends, relatives and total strangers have better careers, better homes,
prettier wives, good children and loving families.
Uhuru and Raila are NOT
anti-corruption Champions │As Kidero
gets deeply embroiled in the thick of 200 million shillings bribery saga, the
purported anti-corruption champion that is CORD has gone dumb. No public
rallies to call for his resignation.
Understanding a Town With one of the
Highest HIV Infections │For the
compensation of buying fish at a much lower price, the women grant sexual favours
to the fishermen, a phenomenon that experts say has furthered the spread of HIV.
Politically Speaking, Ruto is only bad
because he belongs to the other side │Even the much loathed Aden Duale may find himself sharing the same political
bed with Raila. So, if tomorrow, the whole nation was to wake up to the
unlikely yet probable news that one William Ruto, a prodigal son of ODM, found
his way back into the CORD fraternity after striking a nefarious political
arrangement in the middle of the night with Raila, as is the wont of many a
political alliances in Kenya.
Kenyans are Guilty of Aiding and
Abetting Corruption │How is
anyone supposed to address this menace when Kenyans themselves have no capacity
to get really angry enough and the audacity to take necessary actions? Granted,
we get pissed off at the blatant thievery taking place in this country and the
accompanying arrogance.
Are There Really No Good Men to Marry?
│Two, just because someone does not fit within the
strict and stifling confines of your husband eligibility criteria does not mean
they are not eligible at all. They are eligible alright, but not just to you.
Moses or Okundi; It’s lose-lose
situation for Homa Bay │Sooner or
later though, as is our wont, we are bound to begin complaining about
misrepresentation, or its lack thereof. In the heat of the moment, we will
forget that it is our inability to think beyond the prevailing political
atmosphere that put the wrong person into office, as is currently personified
by the myriads of complaints emanating from the constituents of Ndhiwa who are
displeased with the current MP, Augustino Neto.
Why Electing Raila-Friendly Leaders Is
Detrimental To Luo Nyanza. │I do not
know about you, but do know that there is little democracy in Luo Nyanza. We
are a people whose only idea of democracy is blind and unquestioned sycophancy
to Baba. We are yet to attain political maturity and democracy. And we
are never united, do not be fooled. So talks about how some people are
hell-bent on dividing us is pure balderdash.
Why Kenyan Men Cheat │Because their women let them, some men in Kenya cheat on their partners’
safe in the knowledge that the women in their lives are either too forgiving or
willing to put up with his cheating ways and will have them back no matter what
they do.
ICC Motion a Ruse To Draw Public
Attention From Vat Bill 2013 │Believe it
or not, the government is not made up of dim-wits. Neither is your president
nor his deputy unintelligent. Your government knows very well the possible
risks of having you – the taxpayer – become preoccupied with painful thoughts
of having to part with extra cash to purchase your basic commodities from your
already strained and shallow pockets.
Of Doctors & Their Allergy to
Bankers!! │ Now, if we
are to conduct a mass brain transplant of the ordinary citizens so that we may
adopt the clinical reasoning of the medics, and before other like-minded
professional bodies, unions and organizations start voicing rejection of the
rest of the nominees on such basis, let us attempt to patiently redistribute
the cabinet slots in the manner prescribed by the docs in an endeavour to
indulge their malarkey.
Must We Return Kalonzo To Parliament? │Does it also mean that there exists in Kenya a certain clique of
individuals who must be in parliament or what? And if this is the case, then
why can’t we find a ‘safe landing’ for the likes of Martha Karua, Peter
Kenneth, Musalia Mudavadi and their running mates?
Save devolution, Mr. President! │An opportunity of a magnitude equal to that of the Supreme Court ruling
therefore has serendipitously presented itself to you on a silver platter – an
opportunity if well executed, would propel your credentials to the echelons of
reform oriented leaders; in effect proving to your skeptics once and for all
your commitment to the rule of law and constitutionalism.
“Weka Condom Mpangoni” – What the Ad
Missed │Now, since we all are aware about the existence of HIV, the means of
contracting it and the best ways to prevent its spread, the question that we
should all be asking is, why are we still carefree with our lives and reluctant
to employ the use of available means of preventing HIV to protect ourselves and
our loved ones from the pandemic? What is it about a condom that discourages
its use?
LIFE AND GREED │But, the saddening part of this charade of a life is the realization
that all the achievements and acquisitions are like the blowing wind – here
now, gone the next minute – never lasting. Knowledge fades as the hands
of time steadily ticks towards old age. Jobs are faced with imminent risks of
retrenchment, downsizing, sacking or redundancy. Material possessions disappear
like water under the bridge if spared from the itchy fingers of ‘Nai-robbers’
Why Raila Had to Face the Wrath of
Nyanza │While letting the people decide, he should have labored to ensure that
the elections board organizes a credible process that would have furthered his
seemingly last shot at the presidency. He cannot afford to adopt a laid-back
approach (reserved for Kibaki) to leadership if he expects to be elected
to manage the affairs of this nation.
Pathetic Leadership our own Undoing
│That achievement of
development milestones are pegged on good governance borne of visionary
leadership cannot be gainsaid. That visionary leadership is attainable only via
rigorous vetting process of office contenders is irrefutable.
Regret Letter to Uhu-Ruto │This is to hereby inform
the both of you that you do not qualify to vie for elective posts in this
country – let alone manage its affairs. Your application has thus been
regrettably rejected.
